During the 57 years that Provo High School has been on the avenue, we’ve established a tradition of excellence and progress through academics, athletics, art and service. The school’s location might be changing, but what won’t change is our strong character and motivation to create a positive impact in the community! We created this project to highlight the ways that Provo High School has been shaped into what it is now—a school that will truly leave its legacy.
As we say farewell to the Provo High School on University Avenue, we decided to recreate photos from past yearbooks to remember the building. Mr. Todd Smith assigned his AP United States History students to create a project relating to Provo High’s rich legacy and history. Beginning in November, 2017, we began collecting photos we thought would be interesting, fun, or unique. After compiling all of the old photos together, we then began meeting on a weekly basis, asking volunteers to participate, to recreate these photos. It’s been a really memorable project and we’re so excited to share it alumni, students, and people in the community. Thank you for taking the time to explore Provo High School’s history through the art of photography!
Sincerely,
Provo High Reminiscence Project
